A Smaller Garden Space? You Can Own a Water Fountain too!

The reflective properties of water means it can make small spaces look bigger than they are. Water features such as fountains profit from the reflective attributes coming from dark materials. Night time is a great occasion to draw attention to the lighted, colored underwater lights in your new water feature. Benefit from the sun’s rays by using eco-lights during the day and underwater lighting fixtures during the night. Natural treatments use them because they exude a soothing effect which helps to relieve stress as well as anxiety. ft_258_sideart__17822.jpg

Your backyard vegetation is a fantastic place to blend in your water feature. Your pond, artificial river, or fountain is the perfect feature to draw people’s interest. The versatility of water features is that they can be set up in large backyards as well as in small verandas. The best way to improve the ambience, place it in a good place and use the right accompaniments.

Pets and Water Fountains

Ensure that you take your pet into consideration when you are thinking about putting in a water feature. A pet dog or cat may think that a stand-alone fountain is a big pool or a drinking pond. Your pets will not be negatively affected if you include a wall fountain to your yard. Your fountain may fascinate birds who think it is a great place to cool down, so it is important to think about where you will place this type of water feature. Install a birdbath if your objective is to draw birds to your garden. The indoor use of wall water fountains is altogether possible if wish to avoid these issues. It is common to see these kinds of fountains in dental or medical workplaces as well as in lavish homes.

A Chronicle of Fountains

Hundreds of ancient Greek writings were translated into Latin under the auspices of the scholarly Pope Nicholas V who led the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455. Making the city into the deserving capital of the Christian world was important to him, so he also took steps to beautify it. In 1453 he commissioned the rebuilding of the Aqua Vergine, an historic Roman aqueduct which had carried clean drinking water into the city from many miles away.

In addition, the ancient Roman tradition of marking the arrival point of an aqueduct with an grandiose celebratory fountain, also known as a mostra, was renewed by Nicholas V. The interesting origins of the Trevi Fountain go back to an older fountain he had commissioned to the architect Leon Battista Alberti. The aqueduct he had rebuilt included modifications and extensions which eventually enabled it to supply the necessary water to the Trevi Fountain as well as the renowned baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and the Piazza Navona.

The Ideal Multi-Level Water Feature for your Backyard

For a long time now, multi-tiered fountains have been common, most notably in gardens. Mediterranean countries such as Italy and Spain traditionally have lots of tiered fountains. The courtyards of buildings and communal areas are just a couple the areas you might see one. Impressive carvings can be found on some of the most elaborate tiered fountains, while others have much simpler designs.

While they can be seen just about anywhere, they seem particularly at home in more classic environments. It should look as if the fountain has been part of the environment since the beginning and should blend in accordingly.

Enhance Your Everyday Life with a Fountain

Your quality of life will be favorably influenced by a fountain as it not only provides you a place of tranquility and calm, but also serves to clean the air.

You might not even be aware of the extent to which a water fountain, whether inside or outside, will complement your life. Water makes up a considerable portion of our body constitution, and populations world-wide tend to gravitate towards coastal areas. While there are many extravagant ways to incorporate the benefits of water into your daily life (like investing in a beach house!), a much more accessible solution is to put a water feature in your home.

If you want to make your porch, patio, or back yard even more relaxing, think about installing an outdoor garden fountain. However lovely it already is, your spot will be even more gorgeous if you add an outdoor water feature from the wide variety available. It could be a wonderful addition to the wall of your enclosed porch or outdoors above the veranda. Your flower garden will become a place of glamorous decadence and serenity if you put in a tiered type.

Birds love birdbath fountains because the flowing of the water ensures that it remains clean and does not accumulate bacteria and algae. The hypnotic sound of trickling water is the final touch your garden area needs to become an oasis of peace.

A Fabulous Illustration of Roman Talent: The Santa Maria in Cosmedin Waterwork

Both Christian and pagan articles have been found in large quantities by archaeologists and restorers searching the area of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin in Rome. The celebrated marble sculpture known as the Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth) can be seen in the portico of the basilica nearby. Built in 1719, the Santa Maria in Cosmedin water fountain was not well known and situated far from sight making it hard to visit. The part of town where it was located was depressing and uninviting which was enough to keep visitors away. In order to refurbish the square outside the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, Pope Clement XI commissioned an Italian architect by the name of Carlo Bizzaccheri to create a water feature for the area. August 11, 1717 saw the start of the task to lay down the foundation of the church. After blessing of the first stone, medallions with the illustration of the Blessed Virgin, for whom the church is named, and of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of water, were thrown into the foundation.
