Multi-level Water Fountains for your Outdoor Space

Fountains with multiple levels can be found just about anywhere and have been featured in gardens for many years. You can see a lot of these fountains in Italy, Spain, and other Southern European countries. While they can be located anywhere, they are most common in the center of building complexes and in popular areas where people get together. While some multi-level fountains have intricate designs including sculptures or artwork, others are very basic. b-047__15614.jpg

People love to showcase them in spots having a classic look and feel. The fountain should blend right into the environment as if it has been there since the start.

Reasons to Give Thought To Installing a Pondless Water Feature in your Backyard

There are two names for this style of fountain: “disappearing” and “pondless”. It is known as “disappearing” due to the fact the water source is under ground. Disappearing fountains add calming sound effects and striking visuals to any place where people get together. They are available in a range of unique styles including waterfalls, columns made of granite, ceramic pots, and millstones.

There are many reasons to think about choosing a disappearing fountain. There is no big pool of water that could pose a threat to anyone since the water comes from below the ground. That said, you will not have to worry about the well-being of your children. Evaporating water is also not an issue because the water supply is not out in the open. This means you will use less water than if you had another type of fountain. It is really low-maintenance since it is below ground and not exposed to dirt or algae. Lastly, it is simpler to find a place for it due to its small size.

The Extraordinary Santa Maria in Cosmedin Water Display in Rome

Archaeologists and restorers alike have stumbled upon a treasure trove of pagan and Christian artifacts on the grounds of Santa Maria in Cosmedin in Rome.

Found in the portico of the nearby basilica one can find the celebrated marble sculpture known as the Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth). The location of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin fountain (1719) was not in a well-known neighborhood and was, therefore, not frequently visited. The part of town where it was located was forlorn and bleak which generally kept visitors away. It was a this time that Pope Clement XI mandated the Italian architect Carlo Bizzaccheri to put up a water fountain to modernize the square outside the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. August 11, 1717 saw the beginning of the job to put down the foundation of the church. The consecration of the first rock to be placed in the foundation was followed by medals being tossed in showing the images of the Blessed Virgin, for whom the church is named, and St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of water.

Installing a Garden Fountain In Smaller Gardens

Since water causes a reflection, small spaces will appear bigger. Dark materials increase the reflective properties of a fountain or water feature. Night time is a great occasion to draw attention to the lighted, colored underwater lights in your new water feature. The sun is required to power eco-lights during the day time while underwater lights are great for night use. Natural treatments use them because they emanate a calming effect which helps to relieve stress as well as anxiety.

Water just blends into the greenery in your backyard. People will be focused on the pond, artificial river or fountain in your garden. Examples of places where you can install a water feature include large yards or small patios. The atmosphere can be significantly changed by placing it in the best place and using the right accessories.

The Results of the Norman Invasion on Anglo-Saxon Landscaping

The introduction of the Normans in the 2nd half of the eleventh century irreparably altered The Anglo-Saxon lifestyle. The Normans were much better than the Anglo-Saxons at architecture and horticulture when they came into power. But the Normans had to pacify the whole territory before they could focus on home life, domestic architecture, and decoration. Because of this, castles were cruder buildings than monasteries: Monasteries were usually significant stone buildings set in the biggest and most fecund valleys, while castles were constructed on windy crests where their residents dedicated time and space to projects for offense and defense.

Gardening, a placid occupation, was unfeasible in these fruitless fortifications. The early Anglo-Norman style of architecture is portrayed in Berkeley Castle, which is perhaps the most untouched sample we have. It is said that the keep was created during William the Conqueror's time. A large terrace meant for strolling and as a way to stop enemies from mining below the walls runs about the building. One of these terraces, a charming bowling green, is covered grass and flanked by an old yew hedge trimmed into the form of crude battlements.

Why a Fountain Can Make Your Environment Better

From improving air quality to contributing a feeling of tranquility to the area, a fountain adds so much to your life.

You might not even be aware of the extent to which a water fountain, whether inside or outside, will complement your daily life. It is most likely no coincidence that the human body is made up primarily of water, and that people are attracted to coastal cities. Water is required for life, and a water feature can provide the benefits of water in a convenient and affordable way.

If you want to make your porch, patio, or back yard even more delightful, think about purchasing an outdoor garden fountain. Outdoor water features can further elevate even the most enchanting space. It could be a wonderful addition to the wall of your enclosed porch or outside above the veranda. Make your flower garden an oasis of peace by adding a lovely tiered model. Birds love birdbath fountains because the flow of the water ensures that it stays clean and does not build up bacteria and algae. Add the ultimate touch with the enticing sound of running water in your garden.
