The Pull of Tiered Water Fountains

For many years now now, multi-tiered fountains have been prevalent, particularly in gardens. These kinds of fountains are common in Italy, Spain, and other Mediterranean countries. The courtyards of buildings and public squares are just two the places you might find one. ft_155__66474.jpg All multi-level fountains are enchanting, although some have much more lavish carvings than others.

While they can be seen just about anywhere, they seem particularly at home in more classic environments. If done properly, anyone seeing the fountain will think it has been there for a long time.

A True Roman Showpiece: The Santa Maria Waterwork in Cosmedin

Archaeologists and restorers on the lookout for pagan and Christian artifacts in Rome have come upon an abundance of them in the area of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin. The well-known marble sculpture known as the Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth) is located in the portico of the basilica nearby. When the Santa Maria in Cosmedin fountain was created in 1719, it was off the beaten track and generally unknown as a result. It was said that there was very little to see in this area because it was abject and desolate making it an unfriendly place to visit. In order to refurbish the square outside the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, Pope Clement XI commissioned an Italian architect by the name of Carlo Bizzaccheri to create a fountain for the area. The job of laying down the church’s foundation started on August 17, 1717.

After blessing of the first stone, medals with the illustration of the Blessed Virgin, for whom the church is named, and of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of water, were tossed into the foundation.

Fountains for Tight Areas

Since water is reflective, it has the effect of making a smaller space appear larger than it is. Water features such as fountains profit from the reflective characteristics coming from dark materials. When the sun goes down, you can use underwater lights in a variety of colors and shapes to light up your new feature. The sun is essential to power eco-lights during the day time while underwater lights are great for night use. Natural therapies use them because they exude a soothing effect which helps to relieve stress as well as anxiety.

Water just mixes into the greenery in your backyard. Turn your water feature such as a pond, artificial river, or fountain to turn the core component of your backyard. Water features make great additions to both large gardens or little patios. The best way to improve the ambience, position it in a good place and use the right accompaniments.

How Feng Shui Turn Your Yard into A Good Place to Think

Enjoy the health benefits of feng shui by incorporating its design elements into your yard.

Size is not the most important consideration when incorporating feng shui design to your garden. It is great to have a huge space to work with, but do not worry if the area is small since you can still introduce feng shui design.

Whether you are introducing feng shui design to your home or garden, the approaches are the same. As the energy map, or bagua, of your garden is an extension of your home's bagua, you will need to begin by knowing the bagua of the house.

In order to make the most of feng shui, it is important to start by knowing how to strengthen each of its five elements.

Feng shui design calls for the Earth element, for example, to be integrated into the northeastern corner of your garden, as that section connects to self-cultivation and personal development energy. This could be the perfect spot to put a meditative Zen garden with some attractive stones because these represent the Earth element in feng shui.

Consider introducing a water feature into these feng shui areas: East (health & family), North (career & path in life), or Southeast (money and abundance).

Enrich Your Everyday Life with a Water Feature

Your quality of life will be absolutely influenced by a fountain as it not only provides you a place of peace and calm, but also serves to clean the air.

Both an indoor and an outdoor garden fountain will benefit you in ways you might not even grasp. People around the world flock to coastal cities and big bodies of water, most likely driven by the fact that our bodies have a high water content. Water is essential for life, and a water feature can provide the benefits of water in a simple and affordable way.

The addition of an outdoor garden fountain to any porch, terrace, or veranda will make a huge difference to your enjoyment of the space. Outdoor water features can further enhance even the most beautiful space.

If you have a screened porch, consider installing one there, or if not, then on the exterior wall above your patio. Turn your flower garden into an oasis of peace by adding a pretty tiered model. Due to the nonstop movement of water in a birdbath fountain, algae and bacteria do not accumulate, and birds come flocking to the clean water. Complete your garden area with the serene sound of flowing water.

Guidelines for Putting in a Garden Fountain

Two things many people ignore when planning the installation of a garden fountain is a convenient water source and an electrical outlet nearby. Occasionally new owners get so caught up in the thrill of their new purchase that they forget critical details. Since standard power cords are only 12 feet in length, you might need to connect an extension cord to reach the nearest 120v outlet. It will be necessary to refill your fountain with water so make sure there is a source of water in the area. Transporting water is difficult and laborious. A nearby hose can make filling the fountain much more convenient. A water fountain autofill is yet another alternative, but will require the help of an expert who knows how to set it up since the water has to go through an external line.
